The National Churches Trust

The National Churches Trust is the charity for people who love church buildings. Our work is dedicated to supporting churches, chapels and meeting houses open for regular worship and of historic, architectural and community value throughout the UK.

We do this by providing grants for urgent repairs and community facilities, helping places of worship keep their buildings in good condition and making it easy for everyone to discover the wonder of the UK’s sacred heritage.

In the last ten years we have awarded over 1,500 grants totalling £14 million. We are experts in what we do, and churches know to turn to us for support.

Grant Programmes

We support a wide variety of projects at churches, chapels and meeting houses through awarding grants. Our grants are available to any Christian place of worship in the UK that is open for regular worship.

From repairing a roof to helping to install an accessible toilet – and many other projects – our grants help keep churches open for worship and community activities and allow them to continue to serve people and communities in all sorts of ways.

Full details on our grant programmes can be found on our website.

Church Maintenance

We help places of worship keep their buildings in good repair through our MaintenanceBooker service. Working with our partners 2buy2, MaintenanceBooker offers churches the ability to book accredited tradespeople to undertake maintenance works including rainwater good maintenance, tree surgery and asbestos management.

ExploreChurches

ExploreChurches is our tourism brand. We work with churches across the UK, through a variety of initiatives, to help them develop a quality visitor experience in order to successfully attract people from both UK and overseas. Please take a tour of our website Explorechurches.org to discover over 4,000 churches, chapels and meeting houses, all with a story to tell.
